Love Happens #1 – “Love is always patient and kind”

“He’s loving, caring and most importantly, faithful.” “How do you know he loves you?” “After my surgery, without fail, he came to my house every morning to accompany me to make sure my needs are taken care of, never leaving my side. Then he’d go back, rest for a few hours, and then return. - For an entire month.”

For those of you who have watched the movie or read the book, ‘A Walk to Remember’, the title of this post would have definitely sounded familiar. Featured in this photo is a couple who really reminded me of Jamie and Landon’s love. (Btw, I’m a huge fan of the movie and I feel myself melt a little every time Landon looks at Jamie with those eyes!) Caring for someone when they are ill really brings that warm fuzzy feeling doesn’t it? Right when you’re feeling down and in low spirits, you find someone there by your side tending to your every need, like feeding you medicines, sponging your fever away or tucking you under the sheets. Sounds sweet? Well, that would totally steal my breath away and trust me, it isn’t because of the fever.

Love is not just about passion and romantic (or expensive) dates out. It’s about communication and care. It’s about being there. Perhaps one of the sweetest thing anyone can do for their special someone would be to spend time nursing him/her to health, giving up on time which could have been spent on other activities deemed “more exciting” or “more fun”. Well, in my opinion, if you love someone, all time spent together is fun. It really isn’t about the activities you do together, rather, it’s about how you appreciate just living in the moment with someone who you feel strongly and deeply for.

If reading the above had reminded you of a person who has showered you with such affection, it’s probably a sign that you really should take this season to thank them for their love. No, i’m not talking about showering them with gifts (though that would be sweet too), I’m referring to the intangibles and simple acts like giving them a kiss on the forehead/cheek with a hushed and sincere “thank you for <insert past event which is assumed by him/her to be forgotten>”, a tight hug (sounds simple, but don’t you ever underestimate the power of a hug!)  or even sending them a scratchcard (if you’re a LoveByte app user) with a lovely surprise message that plays on the element of suspense so well, keeping your loved one excited at revealing your hidden message. Really, what’s Christmas without gratitude? (:

This holiday season, many of us would be looking forward for the public holidays and parties coming our way and sure it will be a bummer if anyone of us falls sick. So here’s a tip from us at LoveByte: stay healthy this season and if your loved one unfortunately falls ill, stay by his/her side. Consider bringing the party home and having a blast will still be possible! :D

With Christmas Love,
