Love Happens #5 – “Best friends? More like sisters.”

“We’ve been neighbours for 7 years in Cambodia, but we’re more like sisters. And we love doing the fun girly things together, like shopping.”

Love isn’t always between lovers, but friends too. This Christmas season, remember to show appreciation for the ones who have been there for you through the years. Through the good times, when you laugh your hearts out, and through the bad, picking you up when you’re getting down or just staying by your side so you’ll never have the chance to say that you’re ‘alone’.

Friendship is a lot like any other romantic relationship you have – it has its own fair share of ups and downs. Sure we all may have misunderstandings but it’s not the feelings of animosity and anger that we hold on to, but the valuable lessons we gain with every conflict. We learn not only about the other party, but also, ourselves. We learn how to better make the friendship work and when all is well, we are ever-thankful for not giving up the friendship, choosing to love our friends and keep them by our side instead of losing them over a small conflict.

Over time, we all go our separate ways. However, true friendships sure can stand the test of both distance and time. We’ve all got busy lives, but if your friend matters to you, hesitate not and pick up that phone, send a text, chat online or make a video call just to wish them “Merry Christmas”. Trust me, you won’t regret it. (:

With Christmas Love,
