How a Couple’s Love Began At A Wedding

We got to interview a LoveByte couple, Wen Jie and Daphne, our lucky winner who won a staycation at Hotel Re! @ Pearls’ Hill during our Valentine’s Day contest.

How did the two of you meet?

We met at a wedding where my cousin was the groom and Daphne’s best friend was the bride. Both of us were one of bridesmaid and groomsman then. To keep in touch after the wedding, we befriended each other on Facebook and from there… we started chatting and getting to know each other more, and you can guess the rest ;)

What is your favourite date activity to do together?

We love to spend time together by watching movies at the cinema. Both of us are food lovers, so we enjoy cafehopping by discovering new, different cafes around town. On more special days, we seek new experiences that we’ve not done before. Like on my birthday, we went for canvas painting for the first time!

How are you using LoveByte?

We use LoveByte to update each other on the small things like sweet gestures,¬†little monthsary celebrations or birthdays, oversea trip and anniversary (soon!) and We take many photos when we are out together, and we enjoy uploading them onto Our Story as it is visually tells our relationship journey of over 700 days and counting… It’s also useful for us to keep track on the Days Together.

For us, LoveByte is like a “love nest” where we keep all our sweet moments.

How do you resolve disagreements?

By talking it out and trying to understand each others’ perspective on the issue, It took us a couple of weeks to get back on track, but clearing the air was important. It all boils down to communication and learning how to give and take, so both parties reach the same consensus. I’m glad that we didn’t give up and chose to resolve the problem step by step.

What is the best advice you could give couples for a happy and harmonious relationship?

As a couple, you have to accept each other’s differences. Show interests in what they like, and spend time taking turns to do what each other likes.

It’s also important to know that nobody is perfect, and accept each other for their flaws and imperfections. It’s not easy as it seems, but always choose to cherish the love for one another.
